A fifth hostage has been freed from a French bank branch where an armed gunman was holed up, a police trade union official said, leaving one hostage still being held, APA reports quoting Reuters.

Reuters television footage from the scene showed a man, in a pink shirt, being guided away from the bank in Le Havre, north-west France, by a police officer in protective gear.
