Chairman of the Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons Pierre-Alain Fridez has called on to stop rocket fires to civilian regions, APA reports citing the statement of the Committee Chairman on the PACE’s official website.

The statement said: "Missile strikes on civilian areas must be stopped. It is a disaster to strike the Azerbaijani city of Barda, killing 21 people.

The chairman of the committee also expressed deep concern over the humanitarian consequences of the conflict. He noted that he had put the issue on the agenda of his committee to be closely monitored by parliamentarians from the 47 member states of the Council of Europe.

It should be noted that the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was chaired by the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova in 2015-2017.
