“We encountered for many times especially during the initial phases of the pandemic such appeals regarding the return of the citizens stranded in Turkey on their own vehicles”, said today Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration at the press conference organized by Task Force under Cabinet of Ministers, APA reports.

He said during that period, there was a restriction in movement of intercity transport within boundaries of Turkey itself: “Also the vehicles had to enter the territory of Georgia as the next country. In those times, special permits were arranged. Special buses were allocated for several times so that the bringing on those buses from Turkey to Georgia and from Georgia to Azerbaijan of our citizens would be ensured. Currently, there are no such appeals in the Task Force”.

H. Hajiyev noted that the persons wishing to return from Turkey to the country on their own vehicles should appeal to Azerbaijan’s embassy to Turkey: “We would like to request those persons to contact our embassy in Turkey. In such a case, our citizens’ entry in transit into Georgia and bringing of them from there to the country in the framework of certain rules may be coordinated with those countries and the attempts can be made for obtaining of relevant permits”.
